Analytical Service
Equilibrium catalyst samples are typically analysed
once per week for unit monitoring purposes (or more frequently in the case of
emergencies). The following equilibrium catalyst analyses are standard:
-
Alumina (XRF)
-
Sodium (XRF)
-
Iron (XRF)
-
Nickel (XRF)
-
Vanadium (XRF)
-
Antimony (XRF)
-
Copper (XRF)
-
Phosphorus Oxide (XRF)
-
Rare Earth Oxide (XRF)
-
Total Surface Area (BET single point method, P/Po=0.05)
-
Pore Volume (H2O, centrifugal method)
-
Apparent Bulk Density
-
Microactivity (modified-ASTM method)
-
Coke Factor
-
Gas Factor (H2/CH4)
-
Particle Size Distribution (laser scattering)
-
Average Particle Size
-
Carbon on Regenerated Catalyst (LECO)
Additional analyses that can be carried out on an optional basis include:
-
Zeolite Unit Cell Size (XRD)
-
Zeolite / Matrix Surface Area (t-plot method)
-
CO-Combustion Efficiency (Davison CO-Index test)
-
Attrition Resistance (Davison Index test)
-
Carbon on spent catalyst (from the stripper, LECO)
-
PIANO analyses of refinery gasoline samples (G-CON)
-
Sulphur speciation analysis of refinery gasoline samples (GCAED)
-
Analysis of Fines Samples (PSD and chemical analysis)
Ecat analytical results are typically returned to the customer within two
working days from the date of sample receipt. Data can be easily monitored via
www.e-catalyst.com access (password and IP address secured). On request, a
summary of the E-Cat analyses can be sent by mail every month.
